Just say.. NO!

It's been a stressful day. What happens when we're hit with stress? Bad food choices or no food at all. How many of us are guilty of this practice? I know I am. The no food at all has been what my day has consisted of today until a few minutes ago when I was about to make a choice I knew I would regret later.

Yep, a nice big bowl of chocolate brownie ice cream! Shall I mention the caramel I was going to drizzle on top?  I had the bowl out, ice cream scoop ready to go, whole nine yards. I know, not good! Now, don't get me wrong...I eat ice cream but I try not to eat it unless it has been planned into my day and in this case it was NOT.  I turned off the evil voices in my head and tuned into thoughts of what would be a better option. Waallaaa...........

Vanilla Greek yogurt with granola and a few almonds. No, it's not ice cream but it's tasty and it hit that sweet spot I was in the mood for. See, all the more reason to try Oikos vanilla Greek yogurt and just say NO to those evil food voices that try to get you to eat naughty food!

  1. I am an emotional eater. Every emotion warrants eating. Trying very hard to get away from that. I admire that you respect your journey and success so much that you know when and when not to consume those yummy foods. Sorry your day has been stressful. This too shall pass. I am praying that you will wake up feeling peace, and joy, and relief. Love you beautiful Paige. Hugs to your beautiful family too.

  2. Big, big ups to you for facing down that ice cream and making a much better choice. I am totally with you, I'm a big time emotional eater. (Actually just two emotions- anger and anxiety- lead me to eat in a flurry, but those two are challenging enough!) That yogurt with nuts looks GREAT!

    1. Paige - I thought it was time I finally said hello. I've been following your blog since Jacob first posted it on his FB page. (I've been training with him since December.) Love your posts:)

I'm guilty of the same thing - "all or nothing." For me, foods like ice cream are still huge triggers for me, so I don't even have them around. But I have a cookie business and am surrounded by cookies all the time. It's easier to resist now, but every once in a while those little suckers call my name.

I started making protein bars so I could enjoy something I make. It's been working, I think. It's hard baking all day, every day and not being able to eat anything I make.

Anyway, just wanted you to know that I'm on your side and following you. :) xo

  4. I like the post. It is amazing how disfunctional we are with food and food choices. Thanks for pointing it that out.

  7. My mom told me she tried and and LOVES it. So next grocery trip, I'll buy some too. Have you tried Pure Protein bars that you can only buy at Wallmart? The class I had a few weeks ago, the teacher compared the bars to candy bars and she said you might as well, get the candy bar. The only ones she recommends are the Pure Protein only at Walmart.

    1. Becky, your Mom told me she really likes it. It is by far the best I've had. I haven't heard of the pure protein bars. I don't do a lot of bars but when I do, I stick with the kids cliff Z bars.
